Welcome to Wakee. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Account Information
- Sign-In Details: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create your Wakee account.
- Profile Settings: Display name, time zone, and preferences you configure within the app.
App Activity
- Alarms & Wake-Up Data: Alarm schedules, sound choices, and quest/challenge configurations you create.
- Dream Journal Entries: Text and transcribed audio entries you save to your dream journal.
- Quest Activity: Step counts, shake detection events, and puzzle results that you complete to dismiss alarms.
- Usage & Diagnostics: Anonymous usage analytics and crash logs to improve app stability.
Permissions
- Microphone: To record custom alarm sounds and to capture spoken dream journal entries.
- Speech Recognition: To convert your spoken words into text for your dream journal.
- Camera: To capture puzzle images used in alarm challenges.
- Photo Library: To let you select puzzle images for alarm challenges.
- Motion & Fitness: For step counter and shake detection quest challenges.
- Notifications: To deliver alarms, reminders, and Live Activity updates.
- Tracking: Optional, only if you grant permission. You can opt out at any time in iOS Settings.
How We Use Your Information

Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Firebase Analytics to manage accounts, sync your data, and understand aggregate app usage. Learn more:
Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google. We only receive your basic profile information (name, email).
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives a non-identifying user ID and purchase events. Learn more:
Apple Services
Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and Live Activities are processed by Apple. We receive purchase confirmations but not your payment information.
Data Storage
Your data is stored in two places:
- On Your Device: Alarms, preferences, and recent dream entries are kept locally so the app works offline.
- In the Cloud: Account data, dream journal entries, and quest progress are stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) so they sync across your devices.
All cloud traffic is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
Your Rights
- Access: View your data within the App
- Edit: Update or delete individual alarms and journal entries at any time
- Delete: Delete your account and associated data through App settings
- Opt-Out: Disable tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- Export: Contact us to request a copy of your data
Children's Privacy
Our App is not directed to children under 13. We comply with COPPA and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide our services. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our active systems, except where required by law. Backups containing deleted data are purged on a rolling schedule.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and providing in-app notification.
